What is the easiest way to store data to be access within a local network. In this case, a local network would be one’s own WiFi network.
The easiest way I’ve seen this be done is by using a WiFi router. Most new routers have a USB port that users can plug in a device into. The WiFi router acts as a host for this data and can grant access to all the devices within the network.

This isn’t meant to be for backing up important data but more so to share files and documents.
If you have a collection of movies and TV shows that you want to share with everyone using your network then this method is godsend. This is also useful for small business who want their employees to collaborate together and have access to the same resources. Just make sure to back up this storage file frequently! Especially if it contains important documents and resources.
One of the best hardware to plug into the router is a USB flashdrive. It is flash memory so it is very quick and efficient. It will most likely last far longer than a regular mechanical hard drive. However, flashdrives may limit you in terms of how much storage space you’d have. If you need large amount of space then you can spend some more money for an external SSD Harddrive.
The setup should be simple as plugging it in and using your Router’s Admin interface to enable the storage. You have to make sure each computer on your network is discoverable so you can transmit the files to and from the router.
